Perhaps you saw this terrific story in the New York Times yesterday about a Manhattan artist who specializes in kinetic art. What he especially enjoys is building modern-day Rube Goldberg devices.

Hot tub on a cold night

Copyright gone wild

Were I lawyer, I think I might get involved in copyright. Enshrined in our constitution, copyright was created in the United States “To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries.”

It’s a beautifully written statement, describing the rationale and the parameters of copyright. “To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts,” and “securing for a limited time.”

Living my resolution

I’ve never been a big New Year‘s resolution kind of guy, but this year that’s all changing. I’ve made two resolutions… first, to get into shape and the second is to regularly post to my blog. Neither of these resolutions is particularly original, of course, but they are the two things I most want to accomplish in 2012.

Although I’ve lead training sessions on how to be a good blogger, I rarely take my own advice. Good bloggers tend to have a narrow subject matter and post regularly, among other attributes. I do neither.
